Much of his most celebrated works dates from the 1960's when his songs chronicled social unrest.
Early songs such as "Blowin' in the Wind" and "The Times They Are a-Changin' "became anthems for the American civil rights and the anti-war movement.
" The Times They Are a-Changin' ",composed in 1963 and released in 1964.
This became an anthem for the frustrated youth.
It summed up the anti-establishment feeling of people who would later be known as hippies.

His six-minute single "Like a Rolling Stone" altered the range of popular music in 1965.
This song is performed by 18-year-old Dylan, named after his father Bob.
Dylan's lyrics have incorporated various political, social, philosophical and literary influences.
Dylan has amplified and personalized musical genres:folk, blues, rock, country and gospel.
